Sarawak, Day 1 at the Resort

After the hourlong drive into the foothills, we finally arrived at the Borneo Highlands Resort's gatehouse.



From that point, it was a 15 minute ride up and down very steep terrain that required 4wd. We made the trip in this open air jeep that seemed meant more for casual sightseeing than steep ascent work! It was a scary ride, but Ben and Steph are doing their best to make it look enjoyable...


We quickly checked out our rooms, which overlooked the resort's golf course.


Then we headed to the outdoor pool for a quick swim before dinner. The pool is fed with water from the mountain. It was cold, but very refreshing.
