9 Day Old Bluebirds

The bluebirds were 9 days old when we took this picture Monday night. You can see they are starting to get their first feathers, and they are already blue! It's also getting a little crowded in the nest. They still aren't vocalizing when we approach the nest, but we expect that to change when we visit them again Thursday night. That will probably be our last check, as they will be 12 days old on Thursday. Then we'll watch the nest box from afar to see if they start peeking out at their new world and preparing to fledge!
