August Adventures

August is always a busy month for us - trying to make sure we're enjoying the last of summer, and of course - we all know what happens at the end of August!  The Great Minnesota Get Together - The State Fair!  We'll get to that, but earlier in the month we continued to enjoy being outside.

Henry and dad love to go watch planes at the airport.  MSP is always busy, and you can get really close to see the action!

Closer to home, there were lots of walks in the neighborhood with Yaya to go see cars and trucks on the highway, of course.

One extra special thing we did was to take a couple of rides on the Harriett-Como streetcar!

Ding ding!

We did quite a few rides with the bike trailer, which tends to lull Henry to sleep.

Clothes dried on the line in the summer sun is one of life's simple pleasures.

One day we took a walk at a nearby nature preserve, where Henry found some turkeys to chase.

We took some trips to the zoo.  Henry watched this guy for a good 30 minutes.

How'd you get into this predicament?

There were a couple of trips in August, too.  Katie went to her cousin's wedding up at their cabin.  She had lots of fun with the girls, and the dancing got a little crazy!

Meanwhile, Fran took a trip down to Florida to visit mom, who was starting her cancer recovery and was feeling well enough to venture out to the beach to see the ocean and get some sun.

Even better, we found a spot where we could literally drive right up to the Gulf!  We got picnic food and had our lunch with this amazing view.

Before we knew it, it was time for the Fair!  But that deserves it's very own blog post.  Keep reading!
