Minnesota State Fair 2013

We made it to the Fair three times this year, and it did not disappoint!  Mom and Henry had a super fun time on the Giant Slide.

We also visited a couple of rides on the Kidway.

The Farm was a big hit.  Henry enjoyed riding the tractor.

He also thought milking the cow was pretty neat!

An extra special treat this year was that Eleanor had two entries at the Fair, one for her awesome crocheted hat and the other for her amazing 3D diorama authentically recreating of an indigenous house.

The artist posing next to her work!

Here's a selfie in between eating all of the Fair treats.

It's not the Fair until you've had corn on the cob.

The animals were very popular, as always.  I've tried to explain the sheer size and variety of the animal barns, but it's better in pictures.  Here's a small section of the poultry barn.

That's one good-looking rooster!

The absolute highlight of the Fair for us came at the rodeo.  Henry was mesmerized watching the horses in the warm-up area.

One of the competitors came over to talk to us.  It turns out that she is a special ed teacher, and she took an immediate interest in Henry.  She asked us to stay around after she competed.  After she was done, she came back out and offered to let Henry ride her horse!

She gave him a really long ride all around the paddock.  It was so generous of her, and Henry loved it.

Another year, another amazing State Fair.  Can't wait for the 2014 edition!
