Winter Catch-Up Part 4

April was a very snowy month in Minneapolis.  We were all ready for spring by this time, but mother nature had different plans.  At least we got some pretty photos of the yard.

We just stayed inside and played.  Henry got some new flash cards.

He also got some new books.  He's spending a lot more time reading on his own now!

One great thing about April is that Henry's Yaya had settled into her apartment and was here visiting for the month.

Henry was quite happy about this!

Henry and Yaya spent lots of time playing.  Here they are in Henry's room playing with Baa.

Yaya's apartment has a great spot for sitting and looking out the window at the cars going by.  This has now become one of Henry's favorite activities.

As winter drags on, we have to get more and more creative in our play.  We make sure the sock monkey is well-hydrated...

We turn cardboard boxes into play castles...

We do household chore "play"...

We ham it up for the camera...

...and we stick our toes into pasta.  Of course.

Rachel from the Signing Times videos paid a visit to Minneapolis, too.  She's pretty much a celebrity among the 1-3 year old demographic.  She even made a special stop at Gigi's Playhouse for a private event for the Down syndrome kiddos!  Henry loved it (see his excited face up towards the front?)

The next day she did a big concert, which we also attended.

Katie and I had a date night to a Wild game.  Downtown St. Paul is fun on game night, we had a great dinner before we headed over to the arena.

No sign of spring yet by the end of April, but we're still having fun.  See you again soon!
