Minnesota May

We've had another eventful month!  We started with a trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to see the tulips in bloom.  They have 30,000 of them!

We only saw a tiny part of the arboretum, so we got a year long membership so we can go back often.  Henry loves being outside and will enjoy seeing all of the plants and trees.

Speaking of Henry...

He's getting cuter every day!

Katie and I were able to sneak away to go to our first Twins game.  (Thanks for the tickets Jeff, and thanks for the babysitting, grandmas!)  Target Field, the new stadium, is beautiful. The best part about the game experience is the food.  Lots of great local stuff to eat and drink.

The nicer weather has encouraged me to explore the campus at work some more.  The Mississippi River is just a couple of minutes from my desk.

Both moms were here for Mother's Day this year, which was fun.  We celebrated with a dinner at the Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit, a crazy German restaurant in town.  Lots of singing of drinking songs and other shenanigans.

We also spent a day exploring Stillwater, on the St. Croix River east of the cities.  Here's a picture of the ladies by the river with Wisconsin in the background.

Stillwater has a great kids' park called Teddy Bear Park.  Henry really enjoyed it!

Back in town, I did my first walk around Lake of the Isles with Henry and Grandma Sally.  Everything is nice and green around here for the summer!  It won't be too long before we're ice skating on this lake again.

This one is just called "Hummus al Fresco".

We've been taking advantage of our Minnesota Zoo membership.  Henry likes to wave to the fish.  I think this one might be a sturgeon.

We're looking forward to June.  We've got some of our plans in place - the Minnesota Cheese Festival and a cabin trip to Mille Lacs Lake are already on the calendar.  I'm sure we'll also be doing the farmer's market circuit, splashing in the kiddie pool, and taking Henry for spins in his new bike trailer.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Hey guys!

We really miss you here. Henry looks wonderful and y'all look so happy. Personally, I think Frances and Henry would have made quite the pair. Anyway, just wanted to know I was thinking of you and really enjoy following your blog.
