Another eventful and fun-filled month has gone by! The month started with Katie's surgery so she's been in recovery mode most of April (doing great!), but that didn't stop Henry from enjoying his first Minnesota spring. All of us love being back where we can enjoy northern grass. It's soooo soft!
One of our recent projects was to put a swing in the tree on the front yard. Henry loves swinging, and it's fun to be able to hang out in the adirondack chairs in the front yard like the rest of the neighbors. The swing debuted on a cool day, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm...
Henry turned 18 months old this month. Hard to believe so much time has flown by! He had a great 18 month checkup, he's now 33 inches and 28 lbs. He's 85th percentile for height, even on the normal growth chart. I think he has Katie's genetics to mostly thank for that!
April brought some big time kid food milestones for Henry - his first ice cream and his first pizza! Both were big hits (and both were on the same day - is there any more of a dream day for a toddler?!)
Henry has had a lot of other firsts this month, too. He learned how to pull up to standing, and is really fast at it now. He also has started cruising along the couch a little. He's getting more mobile every day.
He's starting to use signs and say the associated words, too. "Airplane" is his favorite sign. He gets lots of practice with that one, since we live near the airport and at busy times of the day there's a plane every 30 seconds for him to point out. The word is a little tricky for him but he's definitely trying! He also said "bubble" multiple times the other day while Katie was playing with bubbles with him. He's still getting the hang of it, but it's fun to see him communicating in new ways!
Long springtime naps have been popular this month, too. Henry's hair is getting very long, and when he wakes up he often has "baby chimp hair".
We've also had visits to the zoo and the children's museum and a picnic in the park this month. We're hoping to work in a visit to the arboretum tomorrow. Busy, busy! Until next time...
Beep, beep!
