Perfect Weekend and Summer Update

Here's a rare treat - a July weekend in Birmingham with temps in the low 80s. We took full advantage, from long naps on the back deck (Katie) to the first golf outing of the summer (Fran) to a Sunday morning bike ride for both of us.

We haven't posted in a while, mainly because we've just been enjoying the summer routines. We spent 4th of July at Morgan Creek Winery enjoying good food, wine and fireworks. We've been to Pepper Place Saturday Market a lot (peach season is in full swing!), and last week we went to Workplay to see a great new band, Elizabeth and the Catapult (whose CD is now the theme album to our daily commute).

We also both had good weeks at work - Katie graduated from her year-long Action Based Leadership program this Friday!

She has been working hard on all of the projects and activities for the leadership group... I'll let her make a post with more details about that in her own words later on if she wants. Meanwhile, I learned this week that I have been selected for UAB's leadership academy, BLAZE, so I am following in her footsteps.
