Seagrove, FL

Katie and I took a quick getaway down to the Florida panhandle to Seagrove over the weekend. It turned out to be a great weekend to go; crowds were light as I think everyone is waiting until tonight to go down, and staying through the weekend following the 4th.

Katie snapped a great shot of the beach and the Gulf...

...and the obligatory "hold the camera at arm's length" shot...

On Saturday night we went to dinner at Elmo's in Dune Allen Beach. Turns out, it was Crab Feast night. Hello! Four kinds of crab (soft shell, fried claws, crab cakes and snow crab legs), with all you can eat on the snow crab legs. Much damage ensued:

On Sunday we went one town over to Seaside, site of filming for The Truman Show and a relatively famous early planned community. We wanted to do a little souvenir shopping before we headed home. Here's a shot from the town's central lawn.

After that it was time to get back to Birmingham and to work. It was a fun weekend getaway though!
