2014 arrived with more Christmas celebrations. After spending Christmas in Florida with Fran's mom, it was time for the Richards' Christmas as well as our own family Christmas.
One of the highlights of the Richards Christmas was a custom-made jacket for Loren which was specially outfitted with pockets for all of his necessities, including tools, BBQ equipment, and drawing paper!
It was great to have Loren and Sally in town at their apartment for the holiday season.
Henry enjoyed playing with his new Thomas puzzle.
Family shot at Loren and Sally's apartment!
The last Christmas we had was our own back at the house. This is Henry's Christmas morning face!
And his Christmas morning presents dance!
Testing the fit of his new sled.
What's in this bag?!
After all the Christmas festivities, mama and baby were tuckered out.
We finally wrapped up our holiday season. Mandatory family shot with the tree in the background!
Of course, it being January, it was also a great time for outdoor fun. Here's a video of Henry giggling in pure joy on his new sled.
Good times!
We also went to the Winter Kite Festival on Lake Harriett (yes, -on- the lake... rather frozen at the time).
We just bundled up and headed out onto the lake to see all of the fun kites flying.
Even in January, when we get a bit of a break in the weather, Henry wants to go check out the cars and trucks.
Of course, sometimes it's just too cold. As in, -26.
So we find indoors fun instead. Here mama and Henry are having fun on a ride at the Mall of America.
Ferris wheel!
Staying cozy in the house.
It could be worse. The Adirondack chairs could be COMPLETELY covered in snow, right?
