Fran's mom came for a visit last week! After picking her up at the Atlanta airport and spending the afternoon in Decatur shopping at the farmer's market and walking around downtown, we enjoyed a relaxing and leisurely-paced week in Birmingham. The weather cooperated with highs near 80 (unlike the low 50s of this week!) and mom got some quality time with the garden and the birds. We also did lots and lots of cooking, leading up to the highlight of the week, the meatball feast! Our friends joined us and laura set the new record, eating 5 meatballs with dinner.

Since mom left, Fran has caught, recovered from, and recaught a cold, Katie has been hard at work studying for the licensing exam, the tulips have started to bloom and the weather has returned to winter! March is in like a lamb and out like a lion this year, apparently.
